Tip Toe Imp: The AI Rumpelstiltskin From the Tiptoe Meme
The tip toe imp is the little man in the viral tiptoe meme: an AI-generated Rumpelstiltskin in a velvet tailcoat who creeps up to a woman in the hay, shushes her and tiptoes from side to side. He isn’t an actor or a movie character. The clip was first posted on Instagram on August 27, 2026.

Who is the tip toe imp?
He’s an AI character. Know Your Meme says “The clip is confirmed to be AI,” and NBC News reports it was posted by “self-described AI artist and filmmaker Tatyana Tereshchenko.” She posts as Stroinaya and shared the clip on August 27, 2026, together with the accounts Neuroferma and Anna Glinskaya.
In the part of the clip that went viral, the imp:
- creeps toward a crying blonde woman, crouched low on tiptoe;
- puts a finger to his lips: “shh”;
- flashes a sly, closed-mouth grin;
- springs up and bounces from foot to foot, arms flung wide, coat tails swinging.
The full original runs about 33 seconds and ends differently: the straw turns into gold coins, the woman kisses him and he becomes a prince in white. The meme uses only about 9 seconds from the middle.
The “tip toe” in his name comes from the dance and the song. In late September 2026, a TikTok user paired the clip with Houston rapper Riff Raff’s 2014 song “Tip Toe Wing In My Jawwdinz,” which Know Your Meme says is “sometimes referred to as ‘Tiptoeing in My Jordans.’” The full story is on our Rumpelstiltskin meme page, and the moves are broken down in the tip toe dance guide.
Every name for the tip toe imp
People call him, his meme and its song by many names. Each one below is used by a published source, so you can search any of them, together with “tip toe,” to find the original clip, remixes and news coverage.
| Name | Who uses it | Their words |
|---|---|---|
| AI Rumpelstiltskin | Know Your Meme, entry published October 6, 2026 | Entry title: AI Rumpelstiltskin “Tip Toein’ In My Jordans” |

| Tiptoeing in My Jordans | Know Your Meme, as another name for Riff Raff’s song | “sometimes referred to as ‘Tiptoeing in My Jordans.’” |
| Imp | Wikipedia, “Rumpelstiltskin” | “The story is about an imp who spins straw into gold” |
| Little man | The Brothers Grimm’s tale, D. L. Ashliman’s translation | “A little man stepped inside” |
“Tip toe imp” puts two of these together: “tip toe” from the dance and the song, “imp” from the fairy tale and the news coverage.
Why people call him an imp
The dictionary fits him. The Cambridge Dictionary defines an imp as “a small evil spirit,” and, in a humorous sense, “a child that behaves badly, but in a way that is funny rather than serious.” The meme character is small, a little creepy and clearly up to mischief.
The fairy tale already did. Wikipedia’s article on Rumpelstiltskin says “The story is about an imp who spins straw into gold in exchange for a woman’s firstborn child.” The Brothers Grimm included the tale in the first edition of their Children’s and Household Tales in 1812.
The news picked it up. NBC News called him a “creepy Rumpelstiltskin-like imp” in its October 7, 2026 report.
He danced in the original tale too. In the Grimms’ version, translated by D. L. Ashliman, Rumpelstiltskin is “a little man,” and he’s spotted “jumping around the fire, hopping on one leg.” The tiptoe dance in the AI clip is new, but a dancing Rumpelstiltskin isn’t.
Is there a tip toe imp movie?
No. The tip toe imp clip isn’t from any film. Rumpelstiltskin (1987), starring Billy Barty, is a real movie, but its plot summary in the AFI Catalog, the American Film Institute’s film database, has no barn and no tiptoe dance (checked October 21, 2026). Our page on whether Tip Toeing in My Jordans is from a real movie compares the two side by side. For proof that the clip is AI, see Is the Rumpelstiltskin meme AI?
The tip toe imp costume
The imp wears a black crushed-velvet tailcoat, a cream shirt, a black bow tie, black trousers cut off at mid-calf, bare shins and black pointy shoes with curled-up toes. The Tip Toeing in My Jordans costume guide lists every piece for a DIY Halloween version, and the Rumpelstiltskin shoes guide shows how to make the curled toes.
Become the tip toe imp with AI
You can put your own face on the imp in about 13 minutes:
- Upload a clear, front-facing photo of yourself for the little man. Add a second photo for the woman in the hay if you like; a role without a photo stays as in the original clip.
- Sign in and pick a shape: 9:16 vertical for TikTok and Reels, or 16:9 widescreen, at the same price. Standard 720p starts at $9.99 and HD 1080p at $24.99; one or two photos cost the same, and the price is shown before you generate.
- Generate. It’s usually ready in about 13 minutes. Download the 12-second MP4, which comes with AI-generated sound.
Your face and hair come from your photo; the velvet tailcoat, the barn and the moves stay.
You must be 18 or older, and only use photos of yourself or of people who have agreed. When you post it, label it as AI-generated: Is the Rumpelstiltskin meme AI? lists what TikTok, Instagram and YouTube ask for. For a step-by-step walkthrough, read how to make a Rumpelstiltskin AI video.
